Today has been a pretty easy going day for food. On Saturday’s I often just cook a BIG batch of Taco’s so I’ll have taco meat during the week. I have to say Taco’s are my staple food. (right under rice of course) It took me awhile to find a wheat-free seasoning ( I use McCormick Original but be sure to read the ingredients first! It DOES contain Whey!) and just because it says CORN chips does NOT make it GF be sure to check every-time! And I prefer SHARP cheddar cheese on my tacos 😀 Other than that you can make taco’s pretty much anyway you want and that’s why I love them so much! (Plus it’s a food I use to enjoy and I’m happy to still be able to eat it!)

Just search around you’ll be surprised what you can find! Like Hershey’s Chocolate is Gluten-Free! (mmmmm)

Happy Hunting!

Please feel free to share your favorite gluten-free ‘normal’ food!

Growing up I LOVED eating Dinty Moore Beef Stew in a can (of course I loved it with those flaky honey biscuits that you bought in the can as well…But that’s beside the point.) After becoming gluten-free I was in my local grocery store looking for something QUICK to eat and after looking at 1/2 a dozen or so things I couldn’t eat I was beginning to get a little disappointed. I decided to look at the Beef Stew (although I wasn’t holding out any hope, I was still in my “it tastes good therefore I can’t eat it” phase) and lo and behold it said Gluten-Free right on the can! I of course read the ingredients list and it was clean! (of course I did a quick little happy dance)

Since becoming GF I’ve avoided processed meats because I was told they almost always had hidden gluten in them. Well the other day I was in the grocery store and saw a package of Hormel Mini Pepperoni’s, I checked the back and wouldn’t you know it but they had a GF marker too! I read the ingredients and  couldn’t find any ‘hidden’ wheat in them! I decided to google them before I tried them and wouldn’t you know it, Hormel has a list you can download for FREE with all of there Gluten Free foods on it!

Here is the link to the web-site: http://www.hormelfoods.com/brands/productLocator/default.aspx

So last night I ate the most amazing GF chicken nuggets! It felt like to took forever for them to cook, But that was probably because I was so hungry. The box was kinda tiny, and it had 11 nuggets in it. I ate half the box for supper…

The link below is a picture of the box
